That Haunted Hotel In Santa Paula
Way back in the day around 2007 through 2011... I think... we were doing occasional overnight murder mysteries at the historic and haunted Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula. It is a truly fabulous place with wonderful hospitality and timeless atmosphere in the heart of Santa Paula.
The hotel was built in 1911 and was at various times brothel, speak easy and gambling house. Room 307 is said to be very haunted with a ghost name Calvin and a second ghost who was said to be a "working girl" during the wild Mae West years.
Rumors have it that Harry Houdini was said to have stayed at the hotel as well.
We had many magical and mysterious nights there for several years. Did we ever see a ghost? I didn't. I did have a friend who came to my show. She got spooked in the middle of the night and checked out of her room around 2 in the morning and drove home. She loved the accomodations but was scared out of her wits!
Many paranormal investigators have visited this beautiful venue.
Ventura Radio Personalities, Tom and Sandy (Tom & Sandy's 805) held a big event there one time and asked us to bring in the mystery for their VIP audience!
